'Rudy not trash anymore!' Draymond Green gives back-handed compliment to Rudy Gobert after Timberwolves sweep Suns
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Draymond Green took the basketball community by surprise when he made a U-turn on his arch-enemy Rudy Gobert . He praised him after his team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, swept away the Phoenix Suns in the first round of their playoff series. Both players have a history of being at each other’s throats during the just-concluded regular season.

Rudy Gobert played great on the defensive end while also making offensive contributions, and this was enough for Draymond Green to speak highly of him. Funny enough, both players were involved in the choke-hold incident that characterized Green’s violent season.

Rudy actually not trash anymore. He defends now. And ironically, when you see him on the switches, he's up at the level, he not just sitting back and a drop no more. When he gets switched on to the guy, it's like his antennas pop on. He is actually impacting winning, and he's actually doing that on the defensive end. Draymond Green on the Draymond Green Show

Rudy Gobert has been a defensive presence for the T-Wolves this season, and that has translated into his post-season form. The three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year is the favorite to win it again this year.

Furthermore, Green demonstrated fair play when he rightly praised the T-Wolves center, something he is not accustomed to. Nevertheless, Gobert has been doing great and needs to continue for the Wolves to make a deep run in the postseason.

Draymond Green trolls Jusuf Nurkic

Despite praising one rival, Green chose to roast another, Jusuf Nurkic. Apart from their altercation during the regular season, Nurkic poked fun at Green and the Warriors when they got eliminated by the Sacramento Kings.

Green returned the favor when they, too, got swept away by the Timberwolves.

You got to be really careful when you're not that successful, and you try to take jabs at people… When you really don't affect the outcome of the game, it's really tough to take jabs at people because you got a jab in there and you can't affect what your end result is. And so, the Big Softie bowed out. Draymond Green said

Sadly, Nurkic has the worst record when it comes to the NBA playoffs, with 3-17. This season, his stats in the series included averages of 7.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game for the Phoenix Suns.
