Tottenham Hotspur’s scouting efforts have extended to the Belgian league, with the North London club reportedly eyeing potential signings from clubs like Cercle Brugge.

Tottenham are proactively looking at a number of different targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

The club has several positions they need to bolster, including a centre-forward, a winger, a central midfielder, and a couple of defenders.

They have also been actively scouting talent across Europe, with a particular focus on promising young stars.

This strategic approach has seen them explore various leagues for players who can bolster their squad across multiple positions.

One of the leagues they have recently targeted is the Belgian league. They tried to sign Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge in the January transfer window, but the move was hijacked last minute by Brentford.

But with the move to Brentford falling through, Spurs are said to be revisiting their interest in Nusa, while also considering other players from the Belgian league.

Rembert Vromant, the technical director of Cercle Brugge, revealed that Tottenham, along with Manchester United and Chelsea, are among the clubs scouting players from his club.

And they may have eyes set on a few more players from the Belgian league. That is according to the director of Cercle Brugge Rembert Vromant  who reveals that the North London outfit has been scouting his players.

In a conversation with Het Laatste Nieuws, Rembert Vromant claimed that Tottenham and Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs looking at his current squad.

Vromant highlighted the potential of several Cercle Brugge players, including Alan Minda, Felipe Augusto, and Kevin Denkey, whose performances have attracted attention from clubs across Europe.

The technical director emphasised the growing interest in Cercle Brugge’s talent pool, with scouts from various top clubs regularly attending matches to evaluate potential signings.

He said (quotes via Sport Witness):

“Alan Minda and Felipe Augusto have a lot of potential.”

“I think our central defenders should be valued more. We are taking Daland’s departure into account this summer. And then of course there is Kevin Denkey. From the calls I receive for him, I notice that he is very good at market.

“We are now in the phase where files from the head scout for all teams end up on the desk of the technical director. The decisions are made: who do we go for? Well, in England, Germany and France, teams want to go for Denkey.

“Listen, an average of sixteen scouts come to watch every home match. I have seen the level of those scouts rise this season.

“Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Lens, Lille, Salzburg, Leverkusen, Ajax, Aston Villa… They don’t come only for our opponent, believe me. We bring very interesting players. A young, athletic profile with a good mentality.”

TBH Says:

While it is great that we are continuing to keep an eye on promising youngsters, we just hope it is not at the expense of spending on a top established player to bolster our squad immediately.
